B.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology (B.Sc MLT)
The allied health sciences are a branch of paramedical sciences that prevent disease transmission, diagnose and treat people. Together with a range of technical and support staff these professionals deliver direct patient care, treatment, diagnostics and health improvement interventions to restore and maintain the health of the patients.
Students will be exposed to subjects like basic anatomy, histology, pathology, virology etc. students will also receive hands-on experience from trained and experienced surgeons in a working operation theatre.
Eligibility criteria:
1. A candidate must have passed the pre-university examination of Karnataka or any other recognised pre-university board with English, physics, chemistry and biology as optional subjects or an equivalent examination with 40% aggregate in physics,
chemistry and biology. If the student belongs to the SC/ST category they will be granted 5% relaxation.
2. The applicant should be 17 plus as of December 31st of the year of joining.
Career opportunities:
– This course opens the doors to challenging careers in hospitals, nursing homes, trauma or emergency departments by assisting anaesthetists ICUs, CSSD and in operation theatres by assisting surgeons.
– Medical equipment manufacturing and teaching.
